Kauri Tree Hugging in Auckland Suburbs

Residents of West Auckland have rallied together to protect a 500 year old Kauri tree. Local authorities want it to be chopped to make way for two new houses.

The Kauri tree is native to New Zealand. David Campbell says the wood is sought after for furniture, but that doesn't mean the trees should be felled to make way for new housing.
