The embarrassment of English cricket

Last week was a bad one for English cricket. What could be more humiliating that a defeat by New Zealand. Answer? A whopping defeat by New Zealand.

 

Kiwi David Campbell gloats on the result of the World Cup  match last week. 

Here are the scarey facts:

England’s total of 123 was its second lowest batting first in World Cups.

New Zealand had scored 116 after 10 overs, the second highest by any team at that point in a World Cup match. T

The Kiwis won with 226 balls to spare

More than 96 per cent of Brendon McCullum’s runs came in boundaries

The last seven English wickets fell for 19 runs
