Matt Grudnoff on rising unemployment

Figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics show the unemployment rate has risen to 6.4 percent. How do we fix it?

6.4% might not seem like a lot, when we compare it to about 12% across the Eurozone but it is enough for people to talk about further interest rate cuts. But why? What’s the connection between interest rates and unemployment? How will lowering interest create more jobs? Balls Radio talks to Matt Grudnoff from the Australia Institute.

What is Balls Radio?

Balls Radio is like talk radio, but for thinking people. Now a short daily occurrence, Phil Dobbie offers his opinions on what's happening, in the UK and overseas: politics, social policy, economics, science, religion. Yes, it's another, slightly overweight middle-aged white man telling the world how it should be. But there's nothing alt-right about Balls Radio. And we try and have fun along the way.
