The Reviews: Skyfall, Sandy and Google

People in West Africa, floor ravaged just a few years back, must have been watching the CNN coverage from New York this week wondering what all the fuss was about this week. Sure, Sandy was a violent storm, but made all the more extreme by the prevalence of news reporters up to their ankles in it, desperately searching out the windiest spot for best effect.

Balls Radio looks at Sandy, asks how John Tavolta saw it all coming, as well as providing one of the first reviews of the new Bond movie, Skyfall, shown to reviewers for the first time yesterday. David Campbell gives it a thumbs up.

Stilgherrian is also on the program, talking about the strange case of Michael Trkulja, a man who likes to think of himself as “not part of the underworld crime scene”. For that reason it was distressing to him to find his picture alongside Tony Mokbel on Google’s image results page. This week he successfully sued Google for the association it had implied. Another example of how the internet is challenging conventional law – does the law need to change?
